Postdoctoral Fellow, University of Cambridge
Dolev Bashi
I study exoplanets, binary stars, and multiple-star systems in their Galactic context, with additional work on compact objects.
About
Exoplanets, binaries, and the Milky Way.
I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Astrophysics Group, Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge, supported by the Blavatnik Cambridge Postdoctoral Fellowship. My research focuses on exoplanets, binary stars, and multiple-star systems in their Galactic context.
I use large astronomical surveys and spectroscopic data to study how these systems form, evolve, and differ across the Milky Way, with additional work on compact objects in binary systems.
Before Cambridge, I was a research associate at Tel Aviv University. My PhD focused on the demographics of exoplanets within the Galactic context.
Prospective students: Starting in October 2026, I will open a new research group at Bar-Ilan University. If you are a keen undergraduate, MSc student, PhD student, or prospective postdoc interested in exoplanets, binary stars, multiple systems, or survey-driven astrophysics, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
